Development Dusties win
1 min read

Division three of the MPFNL saw the Dusties development girls embark on a lengthy two-hour road trip to Sorrento for their match against league newcomers Sorrento Sharks away at David Macfarlane Reserve under the Friday night lights.
This was a standalone fixture for the Dusties division three team, who arrived with a full squad and carloads of supporters eager to witness the girls solidify their position in the top four.
Their enthusiasm was rewarded with a victory, as Warragul Industrials triumphed over Sorrento with a scoreline of 5.13 (43) to Sorrento's 1.4 (10).
The first half of the game was a gritty affair, played out in slippery night conditions, with neither team able to find their rhythm.
However, the Dusties girls managed to scratch out a seven-point lead by half time.
It was in the third quarter that they truly came alive, dominating with seven scoring shots to Sorrento's one, though their accuracy suffered, resulting in six straight behinds.
Nonetheless, this surge in performance propelled them into top gear for the final quarter, securing a commanding 33-point victory.
Harriett Parkinson, Molly Schuurmans, Tarsh Sanders, Jess McGovern, and Kristy Mason were all recognised for their exceptional performances and named in the best for the Dusties.
Additionally, debutants Lilly Carrison, Phoebe Giacco, and Jaz Middleton made solid contributions for the reserves, demonstrating the club's growing depth despite a few key injuries.
Harriett Parkinson was awarded the Anzac Day medal by unanimous decision, following votes from both club coaches and the umpires.
Looking ahead, Warragul Industrials will have both divisions one and three competing in a double-header on Sunday at Western Park.
The development girls will kick off proceedings at 12pm, followed by the division one clash at 2pm.
Both sides will face a formidable Pearcedale club, with eyes set on securing their place in the top four.
The division one side's scheduled match against Karingal on Sunday was cancelled due to a forfeit from Karingal. Dusties remain undefeated in second place on the ladder.
